I took it to a party and connected the speaker to a mobile phone to play songs. It played once and then stopped playing. I used the speaker adapter and wires to connect the device and power it up. My problem is that it's no longer working like it used to.

When I soldered back pin 2 and powered On the IC, it was quite hot. I should have test the IC first with my finger. A replacement of new IC solved the no sound problem in the left speaker.

Note: The above schematic diagram does not reflect the true circuitry found in the computer speakers. It is just for your reference purpose. When I placed my meter probe between point A and ground (above schematic) the meter buzzer sound indicated short circuit. It can be shorted components or the IC. I removed all the corresponding components and found that the short circuit was still present. I then removed pin 2 of the IC and the short circuit gone and the buzzer was silent.

The speaker is powering up normally but if I play songs at full volume you can just hear a very faint sound of the song coming from the speakers. My desktop is working fine.

The circuitry for converting it to DC might be inside the Woofer Assembly as its input jack is showing 11.5V AC. I searched the loacl market and found that none are having transformer with the same ratings. I would like to know if i an put a 12V 2A Transformer in place of the 11.5V 1600mA because almost all shops have that transformer. Also, none of them is showing the VA rating on them. What would be the VA Rating of such a transformer. Please help me out. Hello, I am facing a strange problem with this circuit. The whole circuit wired up this way results in one working speaker while the speaker connected to pin 2 and 3 doesn't work.

It has a lower power output rating of 24 Watts, but is similar to the E2800 in all other ways. Both devices notably lack Bluetooth connectivity, which is commonly available in other 2.1-channel home entertainment speaker systems at similar prices. 'We're extremely excited to be introducing this amazing sound system to the Indian market. It's the perfect solution for anyone looking for a powerful yet affordable all-in-one home entertainment speaker system,' said Ernest Sim, Regional Sales Manager of Creative Technology Ltd, adding, 'And it's the perfect audio upgrade. Just connect the SBS E2800 to your TV set or tablet and experience a whopping 50 watts of audio power, together with powerful bass from the subwoofer - you'll be absolutely blown away with its powerful room-filling audio performance for movies, music or gaming.'

How many speakers do you have, just the two? Sub woofer and a speaker?

This is the thing, your speaker will work if you connect the wires and bypass the volume control. BUT I don't know if its your computer or its the volume control that is amplifying your speakers, speakers on there own can't produce a loud enough sound, Your may be ok and it will work but I'm not 100% sure because I don't know if your volume control is also an amp How many cables do you plug into the computer? Just a audio jack? Or is there a power lead as well?

I tried replacing the capacitor but nothing happened. Do you have any idea?

I have a logitech z3 subwoofer with a mini-DIN-9 connector socket. It also has a volume control and 110V power cord. As best as i could trace the circuit, and using the TDA7377 stereo bridge amplifier chip datasheet, the pinout for the mini-DIN is as follows (untested): 1: L in (to vol.) 2: R in (to vol.) 3: Power (12V from transformer) 4: Standby (5V to play, 0.05mA; 0V to standby) 5: L out 6: R out 7: Ground 8: Ground 9: Ground Connecting 3 to 4 with a large resistance (~20K ohms) should enable speaker. Pins 1 and 2 might be swapped; pins 5 and 8 might be swapped.

Now take white cable coming from audio jack.connect this with yellow blue cables of woofer. Now attach Red and Yellow, connect these to green and copper cables of woofer and enjoy. If problem persist then make experiment to make interchanges with red white yellow coming from audio lead to the 2 sections of woofer side. Woofer connections green/copper and yellow/blue remain same. Posted by Sandeep Sharma an.astrologer@gmail.com Aug 30, 2011 .

Does the system need AC or DC? If the power supply produced 8VDC at 250mA then the speakers get only about 1W maximum (each stereo speaker gets 0.5W) and about 1W heats the amplifier. Maybe the stereo speakers each get 0.25W and the woofer gets 0.5W.

The 2.1 speaker system that I bought 2 years ago has an intermittent woofer. Inside it has many connectors glued together that I might break apart then solder each wire. The woofer is unusual because on the outside it has a 4.5' cone with a rubber surround. BUT it has no coil or magnet.

Please contact the manufacturer to check. • Used - Like New: This means that the product has been opened, possibly used but is in perfect condition with no signs of cosmetic or functional defect. Then googling for the driver, I found this site. The driver provided here worked wonderfully and now my PC has the audio back. I was able to solve the issue. Actually the title of this question is wrong. There is no such thing as a driver to a speaker system (creative sbs 2.1 370). They work with most sound cards. It was my sound card which was not getting detected.

Posted by Sandeep Sharma hai, Here is the solution. When u cut the PCB from both sides u will find 4 cables i.e. Green blue yellow and a copper wire coming from woofer and 3 cables white, red, yellow coming from audio lead.

• 121 Answers SOURCE: Sound drivers are for the computer motherboard, you will not be able to find driver with SBS 230, as this is the model of the creative speakers you are using. If you are using a DELL, HP, Gateway or anyother brand of PC. Go to their website, e.g. Click on the drivers and softwares download section, type the model number or product number of your PC. You will find model number or product number on a sticker on the PC or the BIOS or the Invoice. Type the model number, the website will give you option to select the operating system, select the operating system you are using then click on Audio Driver, download and Install it.

When your amplifier is powered from a higher voltage then its maximum current is also higher. If you do not play it at full blast all the time then the 9V 'transformer' will be fine. Driver update registration key. See if it does not get hot.

The woofer is unusual because on the outside it has a 4.5' cone with a rubber surround. BUT it has no coil or magnet. It is a droan cone! The actual woofer is hidden inside and is only 2.5' in diameter and has a huge magnet. Maybe its flexy wires are intermittent but I couldn't reach them.

Some search results said it worked for some but not in my case. Volume comes in the right speaker and Sub-woofer now. When I turn the wheel cracking sound still coming.

Convenient headphone jack is optimal for private enjoyment of music and games. Pros: low cost. Decent sound at low volumes Cons: No control over bass. The bass levels increase faster than the treble when you turn up the volume which leaves extremely distorted bass. To avoid the bass distortion the speakers must be turned down low enough that the sattelite speakers can't be heard. Other Thoughts: I would recommend spending an extra $5 for a different set of speakers that at least allow tone control, otherwise drop an additional $20-$30 to get a decent set with full control and better bass output, such as the Creative I-Trigue 3300 for $66. They have amazing sound that rivals my Yamaha Home Theater system.

I shall try for the Contact Cleaner else I'll buy one. But it's expensive in my country (a good one for $30+). Do you have any idea whether I could get this spare in the market? Search results say Creative doesn't make them? Very strange THINKING: Does dumping Volume control diminishes any Sound Output or Quality? I opened the VCU but I'm not comfortable how join those leads Thank you.

If you cannot get the outer jacket off of the current 9 pin connecter, then you will need a Volt/Amp meter. Here you simply cut the wire approximately 1/2 to 2/4 Inch back from the cable 9 pin adapter, and locate the pin that corresponds to the colored wire. Using the RESISTANCE part of a meter, when you touch the two probes together the needle moves on the scale. Touch one end to a pin and try each colored wire end until you see the movement on the scale. Now you know what color corresponds with each pin. Solder each colored wire as mentioned above.
