Sears Roebuck Shotgun Serial Numbers
Higgins 66 started production in 1955 which would be the letter 'A' in my theory. Once again all speculation. Last edited by box20022; at 12:25 AM. To close out my Sears Ted Williams Barrel code theory.
Sears and Roebuck Firearms. ADDITIONAL CHANGE OVER NUMBERS FOR SEARS GUNS. Baker gun Company. Smith & Wesson.
Does anyone know if theres a database for the serial numbers for date of manufacture? My nephew just picked one up for $100 from a friend and i couldnt give any info on it no matter how far i dug into google. That poor gun spent years behind the seat of a truck and was never cleaned (while the guy had it). I stripped it down and he scrubbed it clean. I ironed out the wood and oiled it then soaked it in hot water and took 600 wet/ dry to it then oiled it. It came out to be a nice shotgun. Action was smooth as silk.
Buy American whenever you can.except maybe for Antonio Zolis! Zivend.@yahoo.com 28/2/2017, 16:48 น.

Also made with hardwood stocks I believe. Cost new was $110. Choke on barrel. Hope this provides you with some info. Thanks for the information. Was it new when you purchased it?
Once you place an order, you (or someone you know) can pick it up at a Sears store, have it shipped to over 100 countries—whatever is most convenient for you. If you are looking to do some international online shopping, be sure to visit.
Someone on one of these boards stated (I cannot verify) that a national skeet record was set with a Ted Williams 200 or 300. As for the surface rust on your barrel use 0000 fine steel wool and a good gun oil to remove the rust. I would shoot skeet with a Model 300 they have good balance.
There is some controversy about it's safety, there is a screw which is what keeps the bolt from coming out when you reload the gun. Make sure the screw is in place, and you'll be fine. I believe Sears offered a $50.00 rebate way back when? When it became a legal issue with this Shotgun?

I'm sorry that's all the info my books and sources contain. PS The Ted Williams line was Sears best. Yours should have a walnut stock but the finish wasn't quite as good as the Winchesters. You have remedied that problem. If you ask me a $100 for a Winchester made pump is a damn good deal regardless of who's names on it.
I mean, REFUSE to participate in the forums. I don't know if that would hurt or help, but if enough of us stop messing about there, and set up a group on Facebook or Google + or something to discuss shit, it would get noticed:-/ I shouldn't ever mess about in those damned forums anyway.
NEC Turbo Grafx CD gets some love! 2015/01/19 Another 450 games! 2015/01/29 Over 150 SNK Neo-Geo CDs added! Still working on the CHDs, some logistical things to figure out due to their size. Cadillacs and dinosaurs rom download.
A couple of weeks ago I was banned for a week, and although I requested the reasons for my penalty through 2 emails, not one of the hall monitors had the courtesy to respond. Now I'm serving 4 weeks and the silly little photo of Maddie Ruud riding Segway didn't even give me a forum topic to try and figure out what I said to deserve the ban.
I know they dropped J.C. Higgins in 1962 as I have a few of the J.C. Higgins Model 66 Shotguns which are High Standard C-1200's one with Barrel code 'FC' which would be 06/57 and my other Model 66 whose adjustable choke is similar to my TW 200/300's and Model 75 yet has no barrel code but I traced the model number to 1962 probably the end of the J.C Higgins run and the Ted Williams startup.
There are 2 circles, one the barrel and on on top of teh receiver that have the letters SP inside. What is that? Thanks for the serial number and barrel code it helps in my research. I am assuming the serial number is on the left side of the reciever correct?

To meet Sears' price line both models used less expensive hard wood for the stocks and less finishing on both the external and internal metal. This is why they bring less that the parent models at sale time, they are still Winchesters except in finish and name. Hope that helps. Click to expand. Stoney stated that there was no way for him to date Model 200s and 300s.
You know the kind, you have to change two cards for EACH shot. Anyway I purchased what I thought would be a life time supply of the cards. Well that lifetime has turned out to be 20 years. I don't do a lot of load development anymore so I would like to keep this Chrono going. If no sky-screens are available, does anyone know where I might get more of the printed cards? It is my understanding that the Custom Chronograph Company went out of business in the mid 80's.
I'm not StoneChimney but I hope you don't mind if I post some information StoneChimney hasn't posted for quite a while and it is a loss for the forum. He was knowledgeable and his replies were a valuable asset. Any how, your TW 300 is a Winchester 1400 and was made from 1964 and 1968, your TW 200 is a Winchester 1200 and was sold by Sears, from 1964 until 1988, it is still in production. I can find neither model on the different serial number charts that are available to me., perhaps because they are modern firearms and not considered collectible such as the old Winchester Lever Actions and pre 64 models. I know that 4 brothers started out in 1941 making double barrels. I know they started making over and unders with double triggers sometimes in the sixties.thank you very much johnny joyner owlprey2005@yahoo.com. Update: this is about the laurona again. It is stamped on reciever that dana internationl shipped the gun in.
Thanks again, Sir! You probably won't see the Sears one, and I'd actually advise you that the Harrington and Richardson would be the better gun all the way around.

I don't think Sears ever sold a Pre 64 Model 53. Could be wrong. Wng-2, having a Sears brand on it doesn't stop it from being a very good hunting gun, how ever in the market place they sell for 15 to 20 percent less than if it was roll marked Winchester.
There are 2 circles, one the barrel and on on top of teh receiver that have the letters SP inside. What is that? I have a Ted Williams 300 273.521050 Q75699 I traded an old Massey Ferguson lawn mower for it back in 1983. The only problem is that someone had cut off the buttstock to make it a youth gun. I'm trying to find a replacement stock for it. I'd also love to find a Ted Williams brown recoil pad for it as the original was hacked to fit the shorter stock. I'll probably just order a Pachmayr pad if I can find a new stock.
I usually collect oddities like Winchester 40's and 50's, Yet I have two of these great Sears Ted Williams 200 Shotguns SN# P296xxx and P375xxx and one model 300 SN# Q43xxx but know little of them except they were made by Sears can anyone give an MFG date on them the estate I purchased them from claim as well as they can remember Grampa had them since the mid sixties. All have vented ribs and one has a factory installed adjustable end of the barrel muzzle break, all safties are on the trigger, and all have fancy checkered stocks. They are attractive well made cool looking shotguns. I think made by Winchester.
