What Scanners Work With Neat Software

What Scanners Work With Neat Software Rating: 6,3/10 7344 votes

Neat seems to have discontinued its hardware business to focus on cloud-based scanning and document management software, so we definitely can no longer recommend Neat scanners and suggest you get a Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 instead. I'm looking for something more appropriate to a workgroup shared device with around 12 users. The Neat s/w looks useful, but the hardware is suspect. I've seen the Fujitsu scanners that look like good hardware, but the software lacks anything that would make receipts easier to work with - or so it seems. NEAT Receipts review explains how this scanner and software work to reduce paper clutter while managing personal and business finances. Depending on the type of scanner ordered with the software. NEAT Receipts technical support answers questions quickly and thoroughly in the online support forums, and the tech support chat is a great real.

Original review: Dec. 31, 2018 Updated on: Since I was busy over the holidays, I was unaware that there was a 3 day response window and after reading the response from NEAT, I feel compelled to answer the obviously ridiculous and very misleading statement that was used as explanation to my initial review. First and foremost, the software provided was not a 'gimmie' for purchasing the overpriced scanners.

F SS crushes NR HANDS DOWN! My only regret is I did not wait 4 more months when this hip new ix1500 came out – OUCH! Sam.a question for you Is there a.true distinction between the ix1500 and the newer EVERNOTE Edition? I am a big.time Evernote user and was wondering if you thought if this is simply a marketing badge, or a model with an extra advantage for us Evernote users? Thank you Tony. One more odd question – I am in need of a scanner that can scan checks.

Please tell me if I'm not in the correct forum or if I am inappropriate, in any way I'm fairly new to forums. •Thanks for your prompt reply! Sorry mine's kinda not. I configured through ScanSnap menu.

Whether this matters to you depends on how you like to scan things. I don’t think it is very important, and if you don’t know whether you want TWAIN, you probably won’t miss it.

Of course, if you are buying on looks alone, you don’t need this review. Scanning with the NeatDesk The NeatDesk is both fast and slow. It pulls documents through the ADF really quickly.

Last night was a new version and I can see big improvements already. The problem though with ‘other’ scanners has always been those scanners. The Fujitsu scanners don’t use the TWAIN standard and this is why they are not recognized on the windows side. Fujitsu is doing this to lock down their product in my opinion.

Neat expects its new, fully Windows 8-compatible version, Neat for Windows 5.2 SP3, to be available by mid-November 2012, at which point you will be able to download the update from the. Plustek Plustek has a page on that offers current information on OS compatibility for Plustek scanners. For those models on the list that have Windows 8 drivers, you can download the drivers by scrolling down to the bottom of the page, choosing Drivers and Downloads under the Support heading, and then searching for your scanner model on the Drivers and Downloads page. Plustek says that it will provide Windows 8 drivers for all of the scanners on its compatibility page by January 1, 2013.

It’s post Christmas 2012. I wanted to buy a scanner to help me get organized for 2013. I have a small business, and then of course, personal bills, etc. And a high schooler. My main purpose is to get all my bills in an organized and easily retrievable manner, then shred paper files. I also want to scan tests and quizzes for high schooler so they can manage their papers through the semester and prep for future quizzes and finals (some teachers don’t give back homework in time to prep for quizzes, etc.).

So your Neat alternative and replacement should provide all of the necessary features for working with PDF files. In this sense, you can not only replace Neat, you can potentially improve on it. Many former Neat users love FileCenter's PDF features, especially PDF stacking – the ability to drag-and-drop PDF files on each other to combine them. Unlike Neat, FileCenter includes a PDF editor right in the interface. Without ever leaving the software, you'll be able to edit and annotate your PDFs and even fill out PDF forms. Use Your Neat Scanner without Software A lot of users wonder how to use a Neat scanner without the software. How does a Neat scanner work?

D) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete it and the restart the computer if prompted. After uninstalling the driver completely from the computer, you may reinstall it from Neat website and check the issue.

Anita, We do apologize for the frustration this may have caused you. We have taken a look at your case history with the Neat company and we cold locate your account. We see that you have signed up for a subscription back in June of 2017. During the set up of the account, there were terms and conditions that had to be agreed upon for your Premium Yearly account. Once a year of service passes, your subscription will automatically renew.

Do you want them locked into NeatWorks’s proprietary database, or do you want to be able to easily navigate files on your computer, sync them across computers, access them on your phone, and so on? (I’ll take the latter.) Further, NeatWorks is sl ooow. When you scan something like a business card or a receipt, it ends up in your inbox. You can categorize it and add other information, and then you are supposed to “file” it. Which means you watch a progress bar for a few seconds before you can move on to the next one.

I have downloaded Neatworks v3.5 for my ScanSnap s1500m. Should I configure them through the ScanSnap menu or Neatworks menu? Neatworks software installations instructions says add via ScnanSnap menu 'if I want to customize settings'. I'm still new to ScanSnap Manager software so don't understand what the heck I'm doing yet or how to customize.

ScanSnap Manager provides further fine-tuning via its advanced Settings. These also serve as an introduction to ScanSnap’s impressive range of scan-manipulation features. Using the default settings, the Manager offers automatic deletion of blank pages, automatic determination of whether a document is color or black-and-white (and scanning accordingly), automatic increase of scan resolution when detecting small text, and auto-straightening of crooked scans.

• Export receipt data to Microsoft Money, TurboTax, Microsoft Money and any financial software that imports QIF files such as Moneydance, Quicken or You Need A Budget Pro. • Export data for further analysis to Microsoft Excel. NEAT Receipts, contacts/business cards, and documents are managed in NEAT Receipts and can be exported to,,, Microsoft Word and Excel and HTML and PDF formats. NEAT Receipts Software Is Organized Into Four Sections Receipts Organizer The Receipts Organizer is organized by folder types, such as business and personal, and by categories.

Don’t know if this discussion is still active or monitored. I may buy a ScanSnap ix500 for personal use. It’s not clear to me how flexible ScanSnap is with regard to available resolutions and color, B&W, and grayscale modes.

You might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice. Hope this helps. Please reply if you need further assistance.

Which means you watch a progress bar for a few seconds before you can move on to the next one. It’s easy enough if you only scan a few pages a day, but if you have a paperless office, it feels like walking in mud. Neat may think NeatWorks is somehow worth $99.95, but I think that is just to make buyers feel like they are getting a great value with their scanners. I wouldn’t pay zero for it. Once again, let’s try to compare with the ScanSnap. The ScanSnap Organizer is similarly useless bloatware, but at least you have the option not to install it. Plus, the ScanSnap comes bundled with the hugely useful and valuable Adobe Acrobat, which actually is worth a couple hundred dollars, and substantially increases the value of what’s in the box.

Original review: Nov. 27, 2018 I saw some ads of The Neat Company years ago online and investigated it by checking out reviews.

As a result, I ended up with correctly translated text from the more plainly formatted business cards, and nearly none of the data from more elaborately formatted cards (NeatDesk was completely unable to pick up any data from cards with light text on dark backgrounds). In addition, while the scanner did pick up both sides of a card when set to duplex, it only OCR'd the front side of the card. At a Glance The Neat Company Price: $399.95 Pros: Small footprint; well-designed scanner; duplex scanning; useful software Cons: Some problems translating business cards into text When I scanned some receipts, NeatDesk did a very nice job, even when they were crumpled and in less-than-ideal condition. However, once again, while it could pick up plain text, it was unable to parse more graphically-formatted receipts -- for example, when I fed in a Walgreen's receipt, it found the amount and the date but not the vendor (and identified the purchase as bought with a credit card -- one I don't own -- rather than as a cash transaction). Other, plainer receipts were more successful.

I also need to seperate repairs, taxes, utilities, interest etc. Bills for tax forms for each property. Some contractors will put 2-3 different property repairs on one bill, each one is seperated on the bill, can this be divided when scanned, or scan twice to show in up in 2 files? Can I manually adjust the dollar amount when scanned when one bill is to be divided between 2-3 properties?

In the end, you can accomplish the same things on both. Prince of persia the forgotten sands crack fix skidrow myegy. The NeatConnect works great as a desktop scanner, and the ScanSnap has no trouble uploading documents to the cloud. But the strengths of each are pretty clear when you use them. Setting Up the NeatConnect One of the nice things about a cloud scanner is that you do not need to plug it into your computer at all. Just plug in the power cord and use the scanner’s touchscreen to set it up.

A reliable scanner can be an important tool for anyone looking to send documents or archive photos or paperwork. Scanners have a range of capabilities, features, and connectivity, so it’s important to consider your needs before making a purchase.

It was also very cumbersome to transfer what I scanned to a file because I scanned so much. And then it would cut off because I had too many scanned. And then we were gonna move so I quit keeping up with everything. I finally gave up.

I wish I would have seen this months ago when I was deciding between multiple scanners and document management software. I actually did end up seeing some stuff written by our mutual friend Brooks at documentsnap.com, so I luckily ended up with the Scansnap and have been a happy camper. The only thing that I could see that I liked about neatworks was the ability to transfer receipt data to Quickbooks. Unfortunately, the software, even at $99, isn’t available by itself for the PC crowd. I know this is an older post, but just came across it I have had a ScanSnap for the past 18 months. I really like it, good speed and reliability, easy to use and scans almost any size.

F) Click “Next” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process. Now, check if you are able to perform the scan. If the issue persists, then I would suggest you to go ahead with the next method. Method 2: Uninstall and Reinstall the Neat Drivers and associated Software. Follow these steps to uninstall the Neat Scanner drivers from Device Manager.

I have been lazy, and have piles of receipts, statements, letters from businesses, etc all over. I only want something for home use, and am wondering whether ScanSnap or Neat Desk is better at scanning things that have both typed and handwritten text. I put in a paper, scan it, and it goes to my computer, into an already created file??? Is this how it works? I see words like software, etc.does that mean a lot of ‘hookups’ to my computer? Is there a ‘xxxxx for Dummies” to read before deciding on which to purchase?

Neat’s patented ID2 technology intuitively classifies documents and populates key data fields, helping small businesses organize and categorize financial information that is critical to their business’s needs. In order to manage the high, daily volume of expense transactions and financial documents, Neat gives small business owners the power to capture and access files from any device, taking productivity to the next level. By consolidating reporting and eliminating time-consuming tasks like data entry, Neat streamlines accounting and tax-related workflows, giving time back to small businesses so they can get to what matters most.

I had a CT scan in 2015 and they were seeing shadows. They told me that it was not cancer but I gotta go to the doctor every year.

Does the ScanSnap organizer have these capabilities? I have not found ANY scanning software that will read the recipe and “file” it under the recipe name like TryNeat. Also can I edit it with this software and be able to print it off for a friend? I don’t want to purchase a product that doesn’t do what I want it for. If not do you know of any other scanner and software for what I want? So, after reading your review, and the other comments, I think Neat may do what I (or my pastor) needs it to do. Let me give you the low-down, and you tell me what you think.

NeatConnect Neat Scanner Review Over the years, we have heaped accolades on Fujitsu’s excellent line of. And they deserve every bit of it.

Sometimes a selected scan loaded quickly. Other times, loading stalled with a persistent spinning sundial. Even if everything worked perfectly, the service doesn’t seem worth paying a monthly fee—unless you use it very frequently. For example, iCloud users can almost as conveniently transfer photos from their iPhone to their Mac via Photo Stream, and import them to Neat if desired. Neat plans to add more features to NeatMobile later this year, including editing on an iOS device of data extracted from documents “scanned” with the camera. Send images from ScanSnap Connect to Dropbox, Evernote, and beyond. ScanSnap iX500 Via the Scan to Mobile option in the ScanSnap software, you can send scans from a Mac to the iOS app.

As with Visioneer's own scanners, many of the Xerox Windows 7 drivers are fully compatible with Windows 8. For those that aren't, new drivers should be available for downloading by the time Windows 8 officially launches.

I’m sure you’re correct that 256 grays is plenty. I’m scanning documents, not photos. What I’m trying to verify is whether the ix500 can actually produce PDF files with 256 grays.

Neat no longer support driver updates for their ADF 2008 scanners on the Mac. But it seems thay DO provide updates for their legacy scanner drivers on the PC. So I’m unable to update Neat for MAC beyond version 4.1.0.187. The current version for the Mac is version 4.3.0.36. What this means is that owners of the older 2008 Neat ADF scanners must purchase a new scanner in order to take advantage of improvements in the Neat software. The newest software now includes a few nice features that I want, including better de-skewing (page straightening) auto page cropping, and better page analysis and OCR.
